What are you most looking forward to doing with your role?:
"Making sure the club members find it easy to attend competitions! To see the club have good results and maintain very competitive being one of the top in the country, and that I could play a big part in it."
What advice would you give a new club member?:
"Don't be afraid to make mistakes, always ask questions if unsure of anything! Coaches and committee and other experienced members are happy to help. It's an amazing sport and to see the progression from the beginning to being at intermediate level is very satisfying."
What do you enjoy most about archery?:
"The friends I have made along the way, and the satisfaction of hitting the gold every time."
What is your favourite thing about the club?:
"The people are brilliant."
Main Responsibilities of Tournaments Officer

Sit in on team discussions with the coaches.

Source information about competitions.

Inform Club Members of Upcoming Tournaments

Organise registration of Team Selection and attendance to external committee agreed competitions.

All regular uni leagues and comps

Open Novice Competitions

Arrange transport, meeting point and, when needed, accommodation to all tournaments.

Liaise with the BUTTS league organiser, BUCS Archery Organiser and other club tournament officers.

Organise Competitions held in Birmingham and the Club

Keep a track of external (non-university) competitions in the local area.

Ensure ultimate archer is publicised and scores submitted.

Liaise with Treasurer and Equipments Officer for items and funding needed to run these competitions and arrangements.

Communicate any problems or barriers to competition entries of any team member to the appropriate committee members.
